OUR STORY

Katrina Endean's culinary passion was nurtured from an early age in a family of permaculture and horticulture enthusiasts. Katrina's ethos is to create unforgettable food experiences using wholesome, organic and local produce.

Katrina is a fully qualified chef and has worked at vegetarian restaurant ‘The Fernery’ in Crow’s Nest, ‘Cafe Kangaroo’ and ‘Source’ in Kangaroo Valley before starting her own business with fellow chef, Cheryl Patterson, called ‘Two Short Ladies’.

Katrina started ‘Caterina in Kangaroo Valley’ eight years ago.

When she's not whipping up scrumptious culinary feasts at the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, Katrina can be found alongside cheeky lyrebirds in her avocado and citrus orchard or nestled amongst the sweet peas in her divine permaculture garden.

Lora Becke joined Caterina in Kangaroo Valley in 2015 and her love of pastry and dessert making is a huge asset.  Lora is a fully qualified Chef, completing her Chef Training in 2009.  She brings a vast knowledge of both Commercial and Patisserie style Dessert cooking and has worked with Adriano Zumbo, Black Star Pastry and K’Pane Artisan Bakery in Coffs Harbour.

Attention to detail makes Lora’s work exceptional.  Her passion for cooking was nurtured by her family from a young age and this combined with the ideals of Caterina in Kangaroo Valley; Locally Gathered / Cooked with Passion / Food with Heart make Lora and Katrina a winning team.

A recent review of one of Lora’s wedding cakes; anything else I eat after this cake will only disappoint my tastebuds.

When not in the kitchen icing up a dessert delight Lora can be found curled up on her couch on the coast with her Cat ‘Lumpy’.
